COMPANY
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by George Furth
Backstage Theatre, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, January - February 2022
"Phone rings, door chimes - in comes company!"
It is Bobby's birthday and his coupled-up friends have arranged a surprise party. As they wait for him to blow out the candles, questions are raised. Why isn't Bobby married yet? Why doesn't Bobby settle down? Why can't he find the right woman? And what, if anything, is he missing out on?
Sondheim's classic musical comedy is returned to its 1970's origins in this new production, featuring the songs including Being Alive, You Could Drive A Person Crazy, Getting Married Today and The Ladies Who Lunch.
